Can demons follow you after a ghost hunt?

me and a couple of friends are going to investigate one of their girlfriend's house which is supposed to be haunted by an evil spirit. they've (his gf and mom) have been scrathed and burned by this spirit and we were told it doesnt mess with males so my question is how can i stop a demon from following me? i am an Episcopalian and have put my faith and trust in god and jesus. and i dont want someone to tell me demons dont exist so dont even use that as a reply. is there anything i should do before going into this house???
