Do the dead sardines in California have anything to do with the tsunami in Japan?

The waves in a tsunami are caused by volcanic activity. The dead fish may or may not have died as an indirect result of the tsunami in Japan. The only way to find out for sure is to take one of these dead sardines to a toxicologist who could run a test on them. Volcano's usually have high concentrations of sulfur which might harm aquatic life.
